February 26, 2008... Tuesday....about 12:12 PM today, we made the decision to let Sophie pass....it was a malignant tumor that was all the way through her liver...it was not the spleen as it looked on the x-ray...our vet said if she were his dog he would choose to not let her wake up from this surgery.....so we made the decision to put her down....thank you for all the prayers for all of us....she was a wonderful dog companion and she adored her family....dogs live such short lives...and they are so much better than humans...I don't think I will ever understand.....she had a good life with us...we adored her...and we will always miss her....peace, Sophie....we love you....this is a quote from Albert Payson Terhune that Melanie just sent to me:

So very sad to hear of Sophie passing.
