Reporter Likely Axed......

September 24, 2008.....Wednesday.......well, today there is a tiny, tiny "Correction" on the inside of the front page of our newspaper.....as it turns out, they say the reporter got it wrong......the headline story yesterday on the Local section of the paper reported  "School Board Triples Premiums"......today they say the real story was they were offering three levels of medical insurance.....well, Triple....Three.....this indicates how stressed our newspaper staff must be....to get such a story....a headliner that wrong.....where was the Editor?......they have recently laid off tons of their staff and no longer do their own printing here in town (to save money....how?).....tomorrow they will probably report that each of the three new choices will also offer triple the premiums we used to pay.....I told you this was River City....anyway....we will see what happens....it is always exciting here.....

Seriously, Looking for Another Country.....

September 23, 2008.....Tuesday....it has become so embarassing to be an American....and today in our local newspaper, it was announced that Ray's medical insurance premiums, from his former career are to triple....the premiums are to triple.....what?....is that disgusting....yes, it is....health care in America is shameful, at best...and medical insurance premiums are to triple....because in our little river city here Blue Cross Blue Shield is at a 4 million dollar deficit and projected to be at a 8 million dollar deficit by May of 2009.....I feel like we are in deep trouble....and that is not even to mention the other economic  dramas...the only comforts we have are...... ....my lovely sister, Lisa, and the new baby, Lyla.......... ....our natural environment...... ... .our Chi Chi........    .......our Hannah and our Katie.......our Tank....our family and friends...... .. intuition......our intuition tells us that these last eight years with the republicans will not be turned around for the country's good even in our life time......we don't really think there is another country out there....but that is not stopping us from looking....We are seriously looking for another country..... we are ready to entertain any suggestions you have.....and we are trying to allow the audacity of hope to enter in here.....it is difficult to keep the faith.....or to have faith....as my Mother still says, "It's enough to make a preacher cuss!" Amen........ 

Legends In Our Own Minds.....

September 13, 2008....Saturday.....recently, our friend, Woody, called and said there was a photo of us in the newpaper from the last Village of the Arts gig.....here it is....it can be enlarged....the reporter mentions "live music" at least he didn't call it "dead music." well, actually "dead" music could have been a compliment.....as in Grateful Dead....not my favorite music....but it certainly has staying power..... ....if I had been the reporter, I would have asked the musicians' names....maybe next time....

Lani, Lucky, Lyla....Peas in a Pod...Pack....

September 9, 2008......Tuesday.....a follow up on the sisters who have adopted lovely Lyla....Lani is my sister, Lisa's, most elderly doxie....Lisa was not certain how Lani and Lucky would feel about adding Lyla to the pack....Lucky was brought home from camp by Lisa's first daughter, Lauren, about 6 years ago....Lauren got Lucky into the family by telling her Mother and Father that she had found a puppy that looked like it was going to be a dachshund when it grew up.....Lucky was a little orphaned flea bitten puppy who was starving in the woods.... Lucky did not grow up to be a dachshund but she has two dachshunds in her pack now....she considers herself part German and extremely lucky....no doubt..... .......Lani is showing baby Lyla how to chew a chewbone.....Lani loves the new baby sister.....  .......it took Lucky about 8 days to accept Lyla into the pack but now she loves to rub on Lyla's fur like she is amazed how soft the baby is.........as you can see....Lucky did not grow up to be a dachshund.... ........Lyla napping with her lambiepoo.....see her little tongue sticking out... those big sisters wear her out......three peas in a pack......awwwwwwww.....so sweet.....thanks for the photos, Lisa.....

September 6, 2008.....Saturday.....I would like for you to look at some photos a professional photographer happened to shoot of our son one of those days we had Gustav waves......

Welcome Home, Lyla......

.........September 2. 2008.....Tuesday.....First.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NEPHEW, JOEL AND GREAT NEPHEW, COLE......hope to see both of you soon........and this one....oh, my gosh....LYLA......she is only partly ours....my sister, Lisa and her husband, David, adopted this beauty a few days ago.....she is a miniature dachshund or affectionately, doxie......unusual cream coloring......and a little of a disability....tongue thrust....her little tongue sometimes sticks out....the breeder was afraid she would not survive because she would not be able to nurse....but she survived and thrived....and when fully grown up....she will weigh 10 pounds.....Lisa will be able to work with Lyla, if she develops a lisp....Lisa is a Speech Pathologist......we are all struck by love.....Welcome Home, Lyla...... ..........adding this last photo after this post I did earlier....but had to....here is a photo Lisa just e-mailed of Lyla with her Lambiepoo toy she received from us today.....precious.......
